Mentoring
A sounding board for business owners
|
I know from experience that growing a small business from nothing into a sizeable organisation takes a lot of doing. It can be a cold and lonely path at times. After the initial stages of euphoria at having your idea turn into initial sales, and then taking on your first staff, and having all those other "first" experiences it can sometimes seem that you, the owner, are working for everyone else. It may be that you have bought an existing business and are looking for ways of moving it forward but don't know how. You may just feel that you are on your own and can't get anyone to understand what you're going through. Because you are on top of the tree, you rarely get any feedback (or - heaven forbid - praise!) or have to report in to anyone. It's a rare being who doesn't have these things and who is able to stay motivated indefinitely.

There are specific skills and areas of knowledge which are listed on this website with which I am happy to assist, but often business owners need ongoing help of a general nature and which by definition is a little more intangible. Clearly in larger companies this role is traditionally carried out by non-executive directors but even then that can tend to amount to presence at regular, formal board meetings. I can do that too, but with mentoring I am referring to an altogether more personal service, tailored to your own requirements and timescales. Please feel free to get in touch for a no-obligation confidential discussion about how I could help you achieve your aims.
